GRR Review: What's Left of Me by Amanda Maxlyn

What's Left of Me by Amanda Maxlyn is an emotional journey of a young woman trying to survive cancer AND find love... but can she keep both?
Aundrea McCall found out she had cancer when she was 17. After four years of treatment, her doctor signed her up for bone marrow transplant on the East Coast, where her sister married a veterenarian and operates a pet hospital. It was during a girl's night out that Aundrea decided to take a chance on the hottest hunk she'd ever laid eyes on... Parker, and they had a great night. Aundrea thought that was that, until she found that Parker was also the new vet at the pet hospital, where she had taken up a part-time position as well. However, she never told Parker that she had cancer. As Aundrea attempts to deal with chemo and other treatments, while Parker pursue her with dogged persistence... Until the charade can no longer be maintained...
Aundrea came across as the girl trying to juggle her responsibilities, and be the beautiful girl her love expected her to be, not realizing that Parker loved her for being who she is, not who she appears to be, but that's a common love theme, right? Expect some rom-com moments and melo-dramatic moments. Parker honestly came across as a little bland, but the overall emotional turmoil is quite honest. While the ending was a bit of jump scare to setup for the next volume, it didn't mess up the ending too badly. There is a sequel volume where the couple deal with couple issues.
