GRR Review America's Bravest by Kathryn Shay

America's Bravest is a collection of four novellas by Kathryn Shay who shadowed real firefighters and incorporated what she learned into her romance tales.

IN TOO DEEP: Captain Gabe fought his attraction to Rachel Wellington, but romance in the workplace is bad. When they were both trapped in a basement, with seemingly no chance of rescue, what will they do?

HOT SHOT: Paramedic Brody found the girl he left behind, Emma Walsh, but she's not willing to give him a second chance. Can he convince her otherwise?

WORTH THE RISK: Ryan (Brody's twin) is a playboy in the police department, but has the hots for Lt. Felicia. The Lieutenant has no time nor inclination but had to work with Ryan on an arson case...

RESCUE ME: Sydney saved local businessman Max and fell for him as well, but this May / December romance may be ending when he discovered her past...

The tales are very authentic, with the stress of the job, the danger, and the men and women who love them, plus the work/balance issues. Can a man take a desk job to keep his family together? Can a captain get involved with one of his underlings? And more. While obviously they are somewhat fictionalized and dramatized, the emotional ebb and flow are touching instead.
