GRR Review: Never Close Enough by Anie Michaels

Never Close Enough by Anie Michaels ended on a cliffhanger that doesn't made sense, and the characters are just too perfect, leading up to a rather boring romance.

Ella Sinclair wanted to celebrate her birthday with boyfriend at a beach house, but instead, walked in on him screwing a yoga girl. She ran and drove out to the beach house alone, but was forced to accept kindness from a friendly contractor Porter Masters, and they were attracted to each other. Ella must figure out if her attraction to Porter was a rebound while Porter must decide on whether Ella was who he had been searching for...

Both FMC and MMC are just too perfect. FMC is a shop owner and perfect boss, and has a pretty good life despite her having a douche of a boyfriend. MMC is basically super-contract man, who built his own house and building his own boat. They both suck at love, but they have no problem making love. Neither are pushy, neither play games. Then...

I'm sorry but I have to spoil the bad ending, since the rest of the story is in volume 2 and 3.

Suddenly Ella had a breakdown, and hit her head and... amnesia CLIFFHANGER! ARGGGH!!!!!!!!!! WTF!?!??!!?!

FMC was way too perfect, it's the world that sucks. She's the perfect boss, have the perfect understanding family, and now she even has the perfect NEW boyfriend. The MMC was also perfect. He's kind, considerate, and a master craftsman who can build a whole house and rich enough to outfit it to his liking. So to mess up these two perfect characters, the author invented a sudden mental breakdown for the FMC... and then a robbery caused her to hit her head... yep, you guessed it... amnesia trope. ARGH!!!!!!!!! Right when it's time to end the novel.

I'm sorry, but this book was just both LAME and STUPID.
