GRR Review: Her Vigilant SEAL by Caitlyn O'Leary

Her Vigilant SEAL by Caitlyn O'Leary was a "strong protector" trope novel that featured relatively shallow characters but decent romance.

Sophia Anderson takes care of everybody except himself. When her mom got sick and her dad ran off, she's overwhelmed with school AND caring for her sick mom, that her little brother was placed in foster care. When her little brother ran away to find their dad, she had to venture into the darkest corner of LA... Mason Gault was a SEAL on leave with insomnia and was out walking when he came upon Sophia being attacked and his protective warrior spirit kicked in and rescued her, but Sophia will not let anyone help her, since she knew she cannot rely on anybody's help, even as she understood that Mason does not want anything in return. When the thugs that attacked Sophia wanted revenge, Mason must summon his team for a rescue mission.

What basically happened is Sophia was doing hard-to-get (but not intentionally) while Mason, the SEAL team leader (the LT) was trying his best to melt the walls around her heart and not wanting anything in return, with the patience of a saint. The ending was basically SEALs going vigilante, which is... kinda heroic I guess.  Honestly, I don't get a sense that these are SEALs at all. They could be any military or ex-military guys.
