GRR Review Home for Christmas by Emme Rollins

Home for Christmas is a suspense novel with an element of romance. Unfortunately, the author left too many plot points open with no resolution.

Ginny is on the run, holding evidence of some very bad people doing very bad things, including to herself, and they will find her... Because they are... cops. She threw away her life to disappear, to keep her sister and her sister's boys safe, but she cannot work, had no place to sleep, and no money. She had to scavenge trash bins for food and household items when she finally noticed a mysterious man trying to help her. But who is this man, and can he be trusted?

While the suspense is real, the romance between Ginny and this man (no spoiler on his identity) was a bit forced, as Ginny seem to be too scared to be falling for anyone. There were also multiple open threads like the "Underground Railroad", "California art school" or even the "Graphic Novelist in New York" that were left dangling.

Category: Romantic suspense

Primary Plot: Girl on the run must stay homeless lest a dirty cop track her down, but she was saved by someone... but who? Why? Can she trust him?

Trope: woman in peril, protector

Overall Rating:  3/5
