GRR Review Charmingly Yours by Liz Talley

Charmingly Yours by Liz Talley is a, well, "charming" tale about a country girl in a big city finding love, and vice versa: how a big city boy found love with a country girl. But it is also about passion, ambition, and life in general, and taking chances.

Rosemary is on her way to New York from little town of Morning Glory, Mississippi to visit her cousin in SoHo because her friend, who passed on due to cancer, left her some wishes and money for her to travel and realize her dreams, and to complete a charm bracelet. Making a wrong turn from the subway, she ended up in Little Italy and ran into Sal Genovese, who's both handsome and charming. Rose found Sal the perfect man to test her boundaries. Sal was tired of having his parents trying to dictate his life, and a female acquaintance Angelina trying to pass herself off as his fiancee, and Rosemary was so unlike anyone he had ever met. Soon, the chance meeting turned into a two-week fling... but... is there a chance for forever?

It is amazing how the two are so much alike (both are living under "helicopter parents", the part where Rose's mom showed up unexpected was just brilliant sitcom) yet so different in all other aspects (country girl vs city boy). The darkest hour was pretty darn bad and it took Sal's grandma lecturing to lead Sal toward his grand gesture.

So why only 4 stars out of 5? Sal's family came off to be a little shallow and so did Angelina. I think Rosemary was too quick to react to the circumstances that lead to Darkest hour. IMHO, of course.
