GRR Review Billionaire Bodyguard Attraction (Billion by Joanne Wadsworth

Billionaire Bodyguard Attraction has a plot that barely makes sense, the attraction that barely makes sense, with characters that barely make sense.

WARNING: Following portions contain SPOILERS

Tyler Whitehall of the Whitehall Lines fortune, is a trained commando (huh?) who somehow was protecting Lydia Sands (and falling in love with her) and the kid when he got shot and lost a bit of memory. A year later, Lydia was sent on Tyler's superyacht ostensibly as the kid's nanny on a family vacation. (WHY?!?!?) Lydia loved Tyler but Tyler doesn't quite remember her, but they soon got reacquainted enough for Lydia to give Tyler her v-card, and Tyler got very very protective. However, Lydia refuses to put anyone else in danger (esp. Tyler, who took 3 bullets for her), so she tries to get away from him and go into WITSEC and changed her identity. But somehow after discovering she's pregnant she decided to send Tyler one clue (through her psychiatrist) which managed to draw them to her new location, just in time to rescue her after her own too-stupid-to-live moment.

The love between the two was never explained and can be best described as karma. They just do, and Tyler is willing to break all sort of rules to stay with Lydia (which makes Tyler a possessive stalker) even as Lydia both want to love Tyler yet stay away from them to "protect" them, never mind her own importance to the case. Lydia just gave up her v-card with no protection and not on the pill, almost as gratitude to her protector. This book is just hard to read, as these characters read like their brains are constantly hazed by hormones. The threat or danger was never there except paranoia. Only at the VERY end of the book did some threat show up, though there was a bit of scare when some reporter leaked something, that was not done well either.

At least the sex scenes are pretty hot.
